Hey it has been a while since I posted but I am still here. Real life gets in the way of simming for sure but I did have some time to do a couple short legs today.
Part of the reason for not having time to sim fly was I recently did a real life trip to Southern California and Nevada that included stops in L.A., San Diego and Las Vegas. I actually flew into L.A. and then on to Las Vegas. Although I did not get a chance to fly into or out of San Diego I did get an hour or so of spotting there.
SWA1435 KSAN to KLAS (San Diego to Las Vegas).
Pushing Back KSAN
Weather at KSAN was wind 337/03kts CAVOK with a mild morning temperature of 16C. Calling for a take off from runway 27 using the PEBLE.3 departure route.
Holding Short of 27 KSAN
Strangely almost all the flights from KSAN to KLAS head north to LAX and then turn ENE towards Vegas, instead of a more direct route. Must be some airspace restrictions as the reason for this.
Weather was CAVOK all around as we made the quick run up the coast cruising along at FL290. The turn over L.A. gave us a great view of the city.
Turning ENE over Los Angeles
Arrival weather at KLAS was wind 056/08kts and 15C CAVOK. Using the CLARR2 arrival onto runway 01L gives us a great view of the strip on landing.
On final runway 01L KLAS
I hand flew the last 2'000ft on my own and my rusty sim pilot skills were showing as the landing was nothing to be proud of.
Parked at Gate C14 KLAS
Off to KLAX next leg...

Real life does get in the way of simming, I agree!!
The sunny shots remind me that summer's almost here...
I wonder how my pilot skill are, I haven't flown the NG for ages!
Glad to see you posting again, Al; real life does mess up all the best things. Spotting in SAN is pretty unique, isn't it, with the airliners flying past the downtown buildings. That's a great town for the aviation-inclined.
Yes RL rules for sure. Any way we could become professional simmers?
Onur, you better get in that 757 man! The UPS 752F I shot at CYYZ should inspire you.
Pitts, I got a few images from the top of the parking garage on Laurel St. But they get a little upset if your up there too long. I agree with you about SD, I want to add i is a great town period!
