This is a flight I did as a passenger in the real world last spring. We are flying the exact same route today as we did in the spring to boot. SWA3167 is a continuation flight from KLAX (Los Angeles) to KLAS (Las Vegas), after originating in KSFO (San Fran).

Weather at KLAX was wind 260/07kts with clouds still 25'000 broken and a warmer +17C. The runway in use was 24L using the OSHNN3 departure to the DAG VOR.

You get a great view of L.A. after you turn left over the Pacific ocean and start to head north east towards Vegas. A little less hazy in the sim today than it was when I flew to Vegas last spring.

It was another short hop, only getting up to FL290 before having to start back down again. Weather at KLAS was wind 210/08kts and clouds 25'000 few. A chilly +10C (chilly for Vegas). Using the KEPEC2 arrival on to runway 25L. It brings you down wind of 25L with a great view of the Vegas strip off the left wing.

You then turn base over Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam for final onto runway 25L and another great view of the McCullough Hills. In real life we were vectored to our base leg much sooner as we did not fly over Lake Mead.

Back to back posts, Al; very nice! Those could have been A-net shots if one didn't know better. Looks like you went to The Gun Store on your Vegas visit, which is also a favorite destination of mine. You should try the Scottsdale Gun Club next time you're in Phoenix, which is like something out of a movie.
Yup the NGX is awesome as is that photo scenery. Hard to stop flying her now that those errors are fixed (bad code in FSX says Pete).
I spent the weekend porting over my WOAI packages to FSX and got rid of that ghastly MyTraffic 2010 (A330's looked like A340's!!).
The Gun Store was awesome! Oddly the wife enjoyed it just as much as I did. If we head to Arizona in the spring I will get a list of places to see from you while I am there....
Your sim has gotten even better with FSX. The resemblance with the real life shot is stunning.
Great job posting the landing video as well as it's the most exciting moment of any flight. (In my opinion anyway!)
Hey, why did you veer left like that after slowing down?
My foot slipped on the right toe brake when I came out of autobrake mode.
FSX really shines with photo scenery. MSE California (and Phoenix) really shines as does the NY area. FLA on the other hand looks half assed (clouds over the scenery).
